The easiest way to reach Biševo is from Split.

PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES AND PERSONS WITH REDUCED MOBILITY ARE ENSURED TRANSPORTATION BY ELECTRIC VEHICLE FROM THE PORT OF MEZOPORAT TO THE VISITOR CENTRE.

THE VISITOR CENTRE IS ADAPTED TO PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES.
THE INFORMATION BOARDS ON THE THEMATIC EDUCATIONAL TRAIL ARE ALSO AVAILABLE IN BRAILLE.

 

Leg one: Split – Vis

In case you do not sail, the only way to reach Vis island from the mainland is by ferry Split-Vis. Otherwise, you may rent a boat.

The ferry line between Split and Vis operates throughout the year. In July and August, the ferries depart up to four times a day, including the fast line – the catamaran connecting Split and Vis. In May, June, September and October there are up to three departures a day.

FAQs Split – Vis ferry

Q: Are bikes allowed on the Split-Vis ferry?

A: Yes, but the service is limited to ferries only. You have to buy a ticket for the bike, the same price as a passenger ticket.

 

Q: Are dogs allowed on the Split-Vis ferry?

A: You can take a dog as long as you comply with Jadrolinija terms and conditions.

 

Q: How can I reach Komiža after arriving to Vis by ferry?

A: The local bus lines between Vis and Komiža are aligned with the arrivals and departures of ferries and catamarans.

Leg two: Vis – Komiža

There is a regular bus line between Vis and Komiža, with the schedule aligned with the arrivals and departures of ferries and catamarans on the Split-Vis line. Thus, the bus Komiža-Port of Vis departs one hour before the departure of the ferry and the bus operating the line Port of Vis-Komiža departs several minutes after the ferry arrives.

The bus stop is in the ferry port. The distance between Komiža and Vis is 13 km. The ticket costs HRK 20 and it is a 15 minutes bus ride. The tickets can be purchased on the bus and are valid for one ride only.

Leg three: Komiža – Biševo

A state-owned shipping line no. 612 operates the route Komiža-Mezoporat-Salbunara-Porat, connecting Komiža to Biševo.

Komiža Nautical Centre operates the line. Ship Sv. Silvestar, called “Pruga” (“the Rail”) by the locals, operates the line. In the summer, the connection is daily, and in the winter, the line operates three times a week.
