The southernmost coastal artillery battery of the Adriatic Sea is hidden in the south of Biševo island. You can reach it on foot, by bike or an electric car. The open sections of the gun positions have been renovated and transformed into four rest areas for visitors, while the fortifications are secured and illuminated. During the summer heats, the temperature in the fortifications is constant, lower than in the surrounding area, so it feels like someone has turned on the air conditioning. Before the end of the southern part of the gun position, there is a mine leading to the opening, offering a splendid view of the Kamik islet and the Monk Seal Cave. Small social gatherings or art colonies can be organised on the artillery battery, while in the evenings stargazing can take place. More precisely, Biševo is known as one of the rare dark sky locations in Croatia.
