Accessibility Statement
Visitor Centre Modra Špilja – Biševo is committed to making its websites accessible in accordance with the Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Programming Solutions for Mobile Devices of Public Sector Bodies in the Republic of Croatia (Official Gazette No. 17/19; hereinafter referred to as: the Act) transposing the Directive (EU) 2016/2102 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 26 October 2016 on the accessibility of the websites and mobile applications of public sector bodies (OJ L 327, 2.12.2016).
This Accessibility Statement applies to the website of the Visitor Centre Modra Špilja – Biševo, https://bluecave-bisevo.com.
Compliance status
The website https://bluecave-bisevo.com is partially compliant with the Act due to the non-compliances (non-accessible content) listed below.
Non-accessible content
The content listed below is non-accessible for the following reasons:
– certain .pdf files contained in the publications are not entirely made by exporting from the Microsoft Office Word source file with the selection of accessibility options, but by scanning of the printed documents. More precisely, they are not accessible as they are not adequately prepared for screen readers;
– some images and files do not have the appropriate textual description (alt text);
– .pdf files do not open in a new window (Tab) of the browser, and .doc and .ppt files are available as downloadable files exclusively.
Visitor Centre Modra Špilja – Biševo is working on addressing the above non‑compliances.
Disproportionate burden
With respect to all misalignments, Visitor Centre Modra Špilja – Biševo temporarily demands the exception due to disproportionate burden in line with Article 8. of the Act.
In line with the Article 3. of the Act, Visitor Centre Modra Špilja – Biševo classifies the .pdf files published prior to 23 September 2019 as archive files, so those files are exempted from the implementation of the Act.
Technical limitations
Technical limitations of the current web architecture prevent the full alignment of the Visitor Centre Modra Špilja – Biševo website with the Accessibility Act, which manifests as somewhat difficult browsing the website for persons with disabilities, considering the complexity of the main site and other sites and as limited number of possible browsing manners and complex procedures for uploading materials.
Improving the accessibility level
Considering that there are certain shortcomings, Visitor Centre Modra Špilja – Biševo will remove them in time, in line with the recommendations for the improvement of the system accessibility and with the goal of achieving full alignment with the Act on the Accessibility of Websites and Programming Solutions for Mobile Devices of Public Sector Bodies in the Republic of Croatia.
